Norwegian Anti-tracking Optical Cable G 652

Norwegian Anti-tracking Optical Cable G 652

The Norwegian imported anti-tracking optical cable G.652 is a single-mode G.652.D fiber cable with an anti-tracking polyethylene sheath, designed for high-performance, durable, and environmentally resistant deployment.Fiber Type and StandardsThe cable uses G.652.D single-mode fiber, the most current subcategory of G.652 fibers, optimized for zero-dispersion near 1310 nm and capable of operation at 1550 nm. Compared to legacy G.652.A and B fibers, G.652.D eliminates the water peak at 1383 nm, enabling full-spectrum operation and compatibility with wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) systems. It has a core size of 8–10 micrometers and low macrobending loss, making it suitable for long-distance and high-speed optical transmission .Anti-Tracking (AT) SheathThe cable features a polyethylene (PE) anti-tracking sheath, which enhances resistance to electrical tracking, UV radiation, fungus, abrasion, and environmental degradation. This makes it particularly suitable for overhead aerial installations and areas with high exposure to environmental stress .Cable ConstructionADSS (All Dielectric Self-Supporting) design: No metallic components, allowing installation without grounding or messenger wires.Loose tube structure: Gel-filled PBT tubes protect fibers from mechanical stress and water ingress.Aramid yarn (Kevlar) reinforcement: Provides high tensile strength for long-span aerial deployment.SZ-stranded tube arrangement: Ensures flexibility and easy mid-span access with ripcords for quick installation .ApplicationsOverhead aerial deployment: Short, medium, and long spans without additional support.Submarine or ducted installations: Can be adapted for deep-sea or buried applications with protective armoring and polyethylene sheaths, as seen in Nexans URC-1 submarine cables .High-performance optical networks: Supports WDM systems and long-distance transmission with minimal signal loss.Environmental and Mechanical PerformanceResistant to crush, impact, and bending stresses.Suitable for direct aerial installation, duct transitions, and long duct pulls.Complies with IEEE 1222-2004 and IEC 60794-1 standards for optical fiber cables . In summary, the Norwegian imported G.652.D anti-tracking optical cable combines high-performance single-mode fiber, durable anti-tracking sheath, and robust ADSS construction, making it ideal for aerial, duct, and submarine optical network deployments requiring long-term reliability and environmental resistance.
